Toddler Bed : Now CASTable!

Thanks so much to @id-element0 for making the bed CAStable! You can download it here. Please note it will overwrite the one you have downloaded in the game (but you'd probably want to anyway).

I am working on an update to the bed that will allow Teens+ to tell bedtime stories to toddlers. Also to fix the "twitch" toddlers get after jumping off and some clipping, so stay tuned.

The updated version includes the proper animations that were meant for release and the following small fixes:

Tuck In interaction should now only show up when a toddler is actually sleeping (will not show up during naps)

Fun motive delta for jumping on the bed should be working now

I added a small energy drain for jumping as well (you can reduce further or remove entirely in the ITUN file)

Tuck In now only available for Sims that have a good relationship (30+ LTR) with the toddler (no randos tucking in your child)

@bh506 already let me know of one issue so if anyone is having similar issues after redownloading, please let me know!

Description:

This is a toddler bed, similar to Arsil's Napping Mat which was a big inspiration and great reference for me, especially the genius idea of using a geostate instead of dealing with pesky bed animations.

If you have the napping mat (you don't need it for this bed), you already know the deal. Toddlers can autonomously sleep or nap in the bed (they will climb in and out of it themselves with no adult help).

Toddlers can also jump on the bed for fun but they shouldn't because it's dangerous! They can fall while getting off and hurt themselves. If a teen or adult is around, they will stop automatically.

If a toddler is in a bad mood and is sleeping, they may have a bad dream and wake up and won't be able to go back to sleep for a couple of hours. (I forgot to mention that they won't get a bad dream if they have the Cuddle Time moodlet which you get from sleeping with a stuffed animal.) They can find an adult they trust and complain and be consoled which will get rid of the negative moodlet and allow them to fall back asleep. They can also do this if they get injured from jumping on the bed.

Credits/thanks: Arsil for inspiration and script references. The bed mesh is from TS4 but the blanket is from @aroundthesims. Old bed jumping animations from TheSweetSimmer have been removed but still going to include her!

Additional Notes:

You can copy the script to apply to other beds but of course depending on the size/height/position of the mesh, the animations may look weird. Update: You need to make sure that bed object has a 2 routing slots, however, named Slot.RoutingSlot_0 and Slot.RoutingSlot_1, otherwise the Sim will reset.

I set the energy motive to be low because toddlers IRL sleep a long time but you can go into the ITUN and adjust if you want.

Some of the animations are little wonky because I'm using a mix of TS4, TS3 and a period of about 10 months in terms of my confidence/skill level with Blender.

This is originally based off a crib mesh so the entry slot is only on one side (see pic below). You can put the left side against a wall but note toddlers won't be able to jump on the bed and other Sims won't be able to tuck them in since that is where they route to do so.

So.. I have a pretty normal life to be frank,

Well as normal of a life a girl with dyslexia and ADHD can have in school, which is bullied, feeling guilt for not being able to do anything sometimes, feeling afraid to tell others about your diagnosis, etc..

I was lucky enough to get a diagnosis, but I do fit most majorities where I'm from, I'm Asian (Indian, but I feel afraid to say that because people may confuse me for being Amarican-Indian/Native American), and Cis, and middle / upper class.

I'm unsure if I have all the help I need, but I'm mostly good! Still struggle with doing anything related to school/work/whatever at home lol.

I've not told anyone other than my mum about my sexuality, but I don't really need to as I'm young enough to not have others wondering about why I've not tried dating yet, and I usually show attraction to men (Tho questioning if I just had a Lesbian phase of if I'm M-Spec, unsure if i ID as Heteroqueer or Bi), tho there was a rumor in my school that I was lesbian since I was when I was like ~10, and I didn't bother refuting it when I became older

I've recently developed a Hyperfixation on Helluva Boss, since I was forced by my YT recomendation page to learn about Hazbin Hotel, and I wanted to learn about the free spinoff I knew I could watch. Then promptly became obsessed.

Thankfully despite being bullied when I was younger, I still love myself, although when my teachers did say 'They were wrong but you actually need to work on X' because they didn't know I was Neurodivergent, it did affect my self confidence a bit, so now I take medication to help with my ADHD..

Lucifer : I have heavy daddy issues so once I saw Lucifer and how he acted I was like 👀. There is a little red because sometimes I hate him so lol. Due to me having a massive crush on Dia and Beel I slowly had my feelings converted to friends since though I am a slut I am a loyal slut. So I did have romantic feelings/crush beforehand but my feelings became stronger.

Mammon: Ofc the poor boy is smitten but since it's with both me and my sister he has feelings for both. I absolutely adore him and if I didn't want dia and beel so bad he would be next in line. But I do also find him a great friend.

Levi: Lmao okay the little hate is because I cannot stand the way he talks I have stated this before but that's really it. Otherwise I think he'd be a great friend because I do enjoy anime and totally would play video games with 24/7. I do not find myself dating him and view him as only a friend. Though sadly I feel like he'd gain a crush on me with how often I'd be around him.

Satan: Don't get me wrong he is hot and all but not that much my type (doesn't like blondes). We would be great friends I feel like since we have bad anger issues to fix together. Again I feel like he would like me slowly because I love to piss off Lucifer and can relate to him.

Asmos: Now I have like zero romantic interest in him. So I would like being friends since I do enjoy makeup and skincare. Because I enjoy some angst I feel like he would gain a crush on me but I would have to push him away and let him see me actively love after someone else knowing I am not doing it on purpose.

Beel: straight up in love with him. Everything he does makes me smile and make my heart hurt. I feel like even though it's hard for him to speak of his emotions he would be heavily in love with me too. I adore family and would do anything for them along with being strong on my beliefs and opinions. I also often self sacrifice because I care for others too much. (I swear I am not trying to be a pick me I just see qualities the brothers would like about me and they would push feelings too far with them😭)

Belphie: of this little slut has a crush on me he is constantly up my ass and very protective whenever someone else touches me (not beel). I would definitely have a crush since I like protective men. Tho again my feelings for his brother would overpower that. I would absolutely love him as a friend because starting shit is so much fun and I adore sleeping.

Solomon: this fucker is someone my sister would go after so I will back off (in this au). We would be great friends and I'd probably tease him for the crush he has on my sister.

Raphael: surprise! I don't fully hate him anymore! He's grown a bit on me since I can see he does care a little but I still get irritated by him. I feel like he wouldn't care much for my existence and tolerate me when I am around but not fully hate me.

Meso: dear God his attitude in the game gets me furious. I will definitely butt heads with him and constantly argue. But I do feel like at a calming point we'd be a little bit of friends in that time.

13: my beloved wife I want to marry her. It'd be the classic wlw troupe of best friends who have secret feelings for each other that everyone can see but them.

Simeon: he's sexy to me and actually very sweet so I would have a tiny crush on him. That would soon turn to friends due to others but it would be like me and him raising luke basically. Which would lead to him liking me since he'd love me as Luke's (mom).

Dia: I am in love need to marry immediately. He is such a sweetheart that if I'd tell him slightly that I like him he would go off the rails and do anything in his power to come after me. (Id love it)

Barb: again belongs to my sister so no romance. We would enjoy tea and peace and quiet. Kinda like two older siblings finally getting a break together 🤣.

Luke: I would treat him like my little brother or son because he's so cute I wouldn't be able to resist. I'd be aiming for an older sister role but he most likely won't see me as that and more motherly.

Please do not take this as me being a pick me this is my take on how things would be like in my world/au of Obey Me and it could end in many different ways that I can write about if you'd like.

A.S.A. Octonauts Headcanons:

Pt. 1 — Kwazii: (Updated 11/8/2024)

Kwazii’s real last name is Navarro and before he found out (they managed to find his birth certificate lol) he put "Gilbert" on his military ID. Ofc in the government’s eyes that’s kind of a problem, but through Dashi’s wizardly tech skills, they were able to fix it without any issues. Let’s be honest Kwazii is a special case.

(I didn’t know that Calico Jack was a real person or that CJ was based off of him. I figured it was just the name the creators chose for the character)

Navarro was his father’s surname (oh wowww how convenient and not at all last minute planning to make things fit)

Kwazii’s mother is Calico Jack’s daughter

Kwazii is still trying to figure out what happened to his parents and remaining family as they all disappeared around the time CJ went to the Amazon. (He was an infant at the time)

Kwazii served with Captain Barnacles on “ The Adelaide ”, a navy vessel that they sailed on for 3 years before Kwazii and Barnacles were promoted to Captain of the Octonauts.

Kwazii and Emma have been going steady for a few years now.

Kwazii’s favorite food is his grandfather’s “Pirate Stew” (It’s still a mystery why)

Consumes anything with the word “Pirate” in front of it. He’s actually become pretty reliable when it comes to media because he knows so much.

Kwazii has learned to enjoy girls nights. He made the mistake of accidentally walking in on one and has been “dragged” to every girls night ever since. (Blame Tweak and her need for revenge — *cough, cough* Gup B *cough*)

Kwazii has an exceptionally gentle heart, sometimes it’s hard to see it past the . . . ahem . . . “no thoughts only soup” and "impulsiveness" . . . but when it comes down to it he cares so much for other people/creatures that sometimes he gets swept up and actually forgets about himself. I know, shocking. (I blame Barnacles)

Kwazii tries to put up a front but sometimes he lets slip how lonely he actually feels.

He and Barnacles have a very tight knit relationship, but runner up of “Best Friend” is definitely Peso.

Kwazii loves spooky stories, mostly because it makes other people squirm (aside from Barnacles, that man is a rock). But Kwazii is quite the scaredy cat (pun intended) himself, not just with spiders n’ stuff.

He tends to get so caught up in those stories that he has a hard time sleeping at night, especially because of how dark the ocean gets at night. I mean he’s got a massive window right next to him, I’d be terrified too if something big popped up without warning.

(It helps when Emma comes over for a visit. Their sleep schedules are kind of off depending on the season so sometimes he asks her to keep a watch while he rests. Ofc she’s more than happy to keep watch and “beat up” any monsters that appear.)

Kwazii has a hard time separating reality and his own imagination, he fully believes those monster stories, or at least most of them. Some are a little crazy even for him. But it’s fun to tease Peso.

Kwazii & Emma’s Relationship:

(Optional reading ahead, this is for anyone who’s interested/curious about their relationship)

Like I said, Emma and Kwazii have been going steady for a few years now. They’ve actually done pretty well despite the distance.

Not to mention they’re quite the well balanced couple. Kwazii being the rambunctious “bouncing off the walls” kind of guy, while Emma is pretty chill and level headed. But I’m not saying they don’t have their moments where they completely switch personalities depending on what’s going on.

Gives “Tall Girl, Smol Boy” vibes.

“I have to find my darling husband, I’m so worried about him!”, “Honestly what do you see in that guy?” , “He makes me laugh.” [ Who Framed Rodger Rabbit? 1988 ]

They met around the time Kwazii was appointed to Sergeant of the Adelaide. He was only nineteen at the time while she just turned twenty.

The reason he became Sergeant so quickly was because of a recommendation by Barnacles. And because of that Kwazii ended up advancing much faster than others in their field. I think Barnacles saw something in him that not many other soldiers had at the time. Of course it wasn’t the highest title he could’ve achieved but it was an honor nonetheless, especially because Barnacles insisted on keeping Kwazii close. He was still so young and without anyone to look up to familial-wise, I think Barnacles had a soft spot for him.

Kwazii and Emma really only started dating after the Octonauts were given a second wind, they reconnected through Barnacles and the A.S.A. and just hit it off. They’ve been long distance ever since.

Of course Emma and Kwazii visit each other every now and then, more than most other long distance couples. You can thank Professor Kelp and Barnacles for that.

In a way they’ve become apart of one another’s teams. In the sense that whenever Kwazii visits the S.S.Jade or Emma visits the Octonauts, it’s as if they’re apart of the family.

He won’t admit it because he doesn’t want to freak her out/scare her off, but Kwazii has always wanted to settle down with Emma. Which sounds crazy I know, but stay with me here.

Both of their jobs are very important and equally dangerous, making it hard to keep in contact sometimes. I think Kwazii is afraid that one day he’ll wake up and find out that Emma has gone missing or worse.

Just like Kwazii, Emma is a thrill seeker. Problem is, Emma pushes herself way more than Kwazii ever has or will. She’s very protective of her team and those that are in her care, and she tends to completely override her own needs for other’s.

Every day Emma is at battle with thugs, gangs, and international villains. Putting herself in more danger than is really necessary. And a lot of times she forgets that there’s more to life than putting away the bad guy.

But the way Kwazii thinks of settling down is completely different to how Emma sees it. They’re both travelers by nature and Emma sees settling as a way of tying herself down to one singular place and never moving again. And just the thought of it makes her anxious, so she tends to avoid the conversation whenever Kwazii tries to bring it up.

But Kwazii sees it more as having a place to themselves whenever they need it, going off to do their jobs but being able to come back and live away from everything for a little while before returning to their duties. He doesn’t expect them to ever stay in one place, but he wants to at least have a commitment to where their relationship is headed.

Unfortunately over the last few months Emma has been distancing herself from him. Just like Kwazii she doesn’t want to loose him or see him get hurt, but her version of this is keeping him at arms length, not too far but not close either.

Doesn’t sound the most healthy way to continue a relationship does it? ;)

Chipspeech Twitter Archive Update

Hi I should have done this months ago.. I do not know when (or if) I am going to finish that website lmao. So I am just going to share my notes from Google Docs. Should be easier to read than the original posts and helpful as a starting point if anyone else decides to make a website :3

The documents are all on commenting mode so feel free to make comments to bookmark things for yourself or write your thoughts or whatever. Under the cut I have put some formatting notes.

It's a folder, each year of Twitter posts is its own document (I tried to compile them into one but it lagged too much). There is also a document with all of the original Tumblr posts (from the accounts I could find, no tags yet but I will go back and get them eventually, also no dates but they're all from 2015), and one with the bios from the official website for ease of access.

The formatting is a little (a lot) weird and there are probably pictures that need resizing/transcription but I figured it's better to give people access now. The text is small (to keep the page count as low as possible) so you will have to zoom in.

It goes by day, organized with a bulleted list. The top level bullets are each character that tweeted that day. The second level bullets are original tweets/retweets by that character. The third+ level bullets are comment threads under that tweet, the organization here is inconsistent but imo still readable (if you think something needs an edit for clarity let me know and I'll fix it).

For each character's section of the list, normal text is that character's tweets/comments. Italicized text is anyone who is not that character. If it is labeled with unitalicized text, it is that character/important account (e.g. the official Chipspeech account), otherwise it is a fan. I also included some labels and/or clarifying comments for Vocaloid producers I like, they're not central to the story though

I got rid of the line breaks within the tweets when copying them down because it was easier to format. Sorry about that. Idk how to fix it other than going through everything again but it doesn't take away from the story so I'm leaving it for now.

If something came from a website other than Twitter, I tried to provide the link (unless its content was deleted). I did my best to transcribe the Clyp posts that were not deleted.

If something is a text-only retweet, it is marked with [retweet]. If it includes an image, it's probably a screenshot of the whole thing. I only included retweets that felt story-relevant (so no miscellaneous cat pictures, Apple-related aesthetic images, etc.), but if people really want it I can go back and add the rest.

Deleted tweets are noted with [deleted tweet], with the characters they came from if applicable. Idk how Twitter works but it the person in the thread is replying to the username of a certain character, I assumed it was that character's tweet that had been deleted. If something says [deleted Dandy thread], assume there is a deleted Dandy tweet in between each of the listed tweets (or another character, but it's usually Dandy). That was meant to be a temporary time-saver and I've gone back and fixed the ones I've found, but there's probably more I accidentally skipped.

Anything not in English is translated in a comment. Except the X-Sampa (I will fix that sometime but there's not much of it). Also it was done with the built-in Google Translate feature so it may be a little incorrect. Unclear pictures and whatnot also have clarifying comments. I can add more clarifying comments (or image IDs) if anyone needs them.

I tried not to include any unattributed fanart but there are some that I forgot to copy the handle for (I am also fixing these when I find them).

As for any future updates to this folder as a whole, I kind of want to go back through each account's liked tweets to see if there's anything funny in there but idk when that will be. That would probably be its own document.

Honestly I should have given everyone access back in June.. oops. If you have any questions you can put them in a comment on this post (or reach out to me another way, idk). As I mentioned before, feel free to use all of this as a starting point if you're making your own website.

I MADE IT! It had been two days or so since the news, but I made it!

Goodness, I only had 42, if not less, time left and there was absolutely nothing. It was impossible to fix it, especially on a ridiculous amount of time. So, I prayed for a miracle. I asked for one because only a miracle could fix this—there was no way to get around it or over it and it just did not seem possible at all. AT ALL. But then, the miracle came!

A whole seven years worth of stress trying to get things together and fixed, it was done for in the matter of a press of a button. Or so I thought, for a little bit. You know when anger blinds you? Happiness did me, and I didn’t read what was sent to me that well that I forgot the last step in the whole thing.

And when did we realize that? Less than 16 hours (counting the night too) before I would have to sign up my leave.

And even crazier? I only had half an hour to get to the nearest machine before it closes to get my fingerprint done so I could get a digital ID. We reached the place and there was only a 20 minutes left. Logically, I could try to (maybe) wait until tomorrow very early in the morning, but it didn’t feel like it. It felt like I was on a very short period of time, and I had to hurry.

So many things stopped us on our way, funnily enough, but we made it.

I managed to sign myself up before the system closes by an only six minutes to spare.

Regardless of all of that, and how mind-blowing things could be and how I felt like I was going to burst a vein in me, we made it. We stopped the people that are fucking cruel.

This isn’t over, and I supposedly, as they worded it, “ran away from home” despite the fact I am no minor (and will be coming back). Not to mention what those people would do when they realize I have stopped them. They might just have a stroke and die—they will get angry, and while they cannot hurt me, it will still be a struggle to live with such an environment until I get a job. But that doesn’t matter, not that much.

What matters is that the impossible-to-fix, the threat over my head, is over. I will still have to endure things, but the worst is over, and that fills me to continue even more than before.

Look how the tables have turned. Funnily enough, I have fought with them the night before, and they swore that I will never get my way because, supposedly, I am the cruel one here. But no. Consequences exist. You don’t have to believe in heaven and hell and all of that, but the fact that the world spins is real, and every action has consequences. I will happily watch them fall apart piece by piece and, while I would heavily prefer being somewhere else, I will wait.

I remember writing the chapter “(Please!) A Miracle” from My Baby and thinking that, oh Sunny, I am asking for one too. Hehe.

A seven years problem is solved. Things may backfire and things normally change and never stay the same, but it is over. It stops now at 28 October, and hopefully it will be completed over soon after that.

Thank you to everyone who stayed around to check on me. To those online and in real life. It literally feels like nearing the end of a drama series, and ya all were the viewers. Good to have come to an end and to announce it. It would still take a bit before it gets all better, but it is nearing its death. I have won the key and no one can take it, now all I have to do is unlock the chains. Ain’t that cliché? But I am a writer I CANNOT HELP IT HEHE.

today was a long day and i was by myself for a long time.

lotta shit hit the fan. earthquake, the automation didn't go off. elevator entrapment, lots of radio calls. phones ringing, 29 phone calls today. reports, updates, requests, clarification emails. constantly.

i ended up staying late at work because i was asked to make a report about response times for the earthquake from earlier. i had to split the data a few times before putting it back together and then adding an hour to make it EDT. and then i could use it, sort it, and go about it that way. i had to do it all manually because i do not know how to write macros. but still. so i made a pie chart about response times and it was appreciated. i sent out the chart and the information and it worked out.

and then i said, "i am going to olive garden, have a nice night." so that's what i did. it was nice. still under the maximum despite a big meal. it was nice to eat food and it's nice to not be hungry again.

also at a dozen separate times i thought about texting joel today, and then i promptly forgot. but i did eventually send him a heart. i had wanted to ask him if he has plans for the evening, but by the time id remembered it was far too late to text him but it was just in time to get information and fix the problems.

i'm fucking exhausted. i hope i have nice dreams.

I forgot to change my phone number on instagram when I moved, and when they decided to suspend me last night for suspiciously following people (I followed about 3-5 before it suspended me), I couldn't verify my account. I was dusting it off and thought I could post book updates and a few other things the last week or so. I thought I'd follow some people I wanted to follow! But I guess it decided I was a bot. Great. The people I do follow, I can't see their posts, bc instagram pushes me to follow other accounts. When I DO follow other accounts, they decide I'm a bot and suspend me. Anyway, yeah, moving to a new area code, I got a new number. (Same phone service, though under a different plan.) I forgot to put it on *every fucking website* that I changed it. I hate moving a little more than I did before, but this just downright pisses me off that I can't seem to find an option to contact them and say, "Hey, I didn't get my number switched!" Better than what Amazon did, but I was able to at least fix that. (I did put down my new number ASAP, but when going on KDP, they decided that I should authenticate with my OLD number that I'd ERASED. I had to submit my fucking ID with certain things blanked out in order to even verify my identity.)

Disc talk

Disclaimer: it has been awhile since I’ve seen Legacy and I’m speaking purely from memory, I’ll update this upon a rewatch in case I’m wrong/misremembering.

Two things that always erked me is how the film frames the system/grid and the discs. The Crux of the plot lies on Clu creating the “perfect system” but … they were never creating a system. They were creating a city.

Too human/lack of purpose-

A perfect system. Yeah ok, but what is the system for? What does it do. Legacy is so focused on the world inside it kind of forgets/ignores the fact it’s in a computer and not just an alternate world.

In this I believe it’s also been stated that Flynn definitely played much more into the Human like features when designing and programming. The skin colors more natural, there’s more free time - there’s bars!! It basically implies that rather than programming he played God… “True User power” if you will.

But in doing this he’s created his greatest enemy, both in his neglect and failure to see what he was building. He forgot programs aren’t people. They need directives. Purpose. Ok - they’re all here to build up the system. Then what? For what? What’s the system for or going to do? The encom system has a purpose- it’s a huge tech company’s computer. Is the Tron system just going to be one hell of a PC?

By the time we see the grid in legacy it’s been sitting idol for 20 years, post coup. No wonder clu wants to break out! In his mind it’s done here- why not expand? There’s nothing else here- it’s the desire/drive to do what he’s been told the need to be doing something. Flynn creates a nice city, he makes a bunch of neat leisure spots but again- programs aren’t humans. They don’t do the “id be happy spending my whole existence just lounging” thing. (I’m not 100% blaming Flynn for clu doing a facism but I’m saying he’s a factor who created a few clauses)

*before you come at me. I know legacy stepped further away from Allegory and reflecting technology side but just roll with me. It’s not like they explained the shift.

Discs and digital evolution-

Again when we see the grid it’s 20 years post coup/operations (user time). I don’t know how much we can acredit to Flynn besides the discs being society wide but…

On one hand he’s sort of completely forgotten the discs being a oppressive tool with the large purpose of “so I don’t have to absorb you personally but get your useful data anyway.” As “everything you are/will be , will be implemented on this disc”

By making them editable he had essentially introduced Medicine/wound recovery to program society. He made it possible for them to fix themselves/each other. Think about it… in the old system just one hit could potentially lead to  Deresolution. Now there’s scars! There’s recovery of limbs (at least for ISO’s) and it not being a immediate death sentence. IF a program was fixed/saved in the old days it’d basically have to be divine intervention and a user noticing fast enough and acting quick enough to save them.

This is just a really fascinating note and I don’t think anyone’s addressed this. Again— really bad idea to have everyone carrying around a ID attached to their soul that is

1.) easily accessible

2.) EASILY EDITIED.

But at the same time…medical science and higher life expectancy????? So? Win some lose some.
